1.In the workshop waltzer, a revolutionary couple dance, we explore together the potential of exstacy in the rotation and the turning of the two bodies and how the waltz also works beyond gender norms. We will explore different techniques of turning movements together and see how we can mix contemporary dance and couple dance together. How can we play with humour in this dance and is it possible to dance a couple dance also with 3 or 4 people. participants can expect to get the basic steps of the waltz and a creative exploration of this practice.

2. Johanna finished her dance studies in 2016 at the HF for contemporary and urban dance in Zürich and graduated from the Master Expanded Theater at HKB in Bern in 2022. Since 2016 she is also creating her own works, which are shown in different Festivals and Theaters in Switzerland, Europe, India, Turkey and Uganda such as ROXY Birfselden, Schlachthaus Theater Bern, Dschungel Wien, Theater im Pumpenhaus Münster, Gostner Hoftheater Nürnberg, FIT Festival Lugano, Zürcher Theaterspektakel, Kampala National Theatre, Khuli Kirkee Delhi, Khoj Delhi, TIFA Pune, Shoonya Bangalore or Istanbul Fringe Festival. Johanna sees her work to be at the intersection of dance and theatre. Her interest lays in cultural practices that focus on the body and its cultural connotation. She sees these practices in a sociopolitical way and finds strategies in her work to make them visible. The constant questioning of her own position as a choreographer in a western context and how the neoliberal system she is living in has an impact on her work and body is part of her pieces that she is passionate about. She likes ambiguities of all kinds and finds humor a good tool to speak about complicated and intertwined interactions between different players in the world.
